Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco and other large supermarkets are recalling a series of food products over concerns that some of the items contain undeclared ingredients that could cause an allergic reaction. The urgent alert was created after a variety of pasta sauces and ice cream, which are sold across most major supermarkets in the UK, were declared a health hazard for people with allergies.

Ben & Jerry’s is recalling one batch of Ben & Jerry’s Moo-phoria Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Ice Cream sold at Sainsbury’s. Due to a packaging error, the item’s lid incorrectly states "Ben & Jerry’s Salted Caramel Brownie Ice Cream". This has resulted in peanuts not being mentioned on the lid, which means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

Mars Food UK is also recalling several popular pasta sauces sold across the UK due to allergy concerns. The manufacturer failed to list soya as an ingredient for the Dolmio carbonara pasta sauce pouch as well as the Dolmio carbonara stir-in pasta sauce meaning the products pose a health risk to customers with an allergy to soya.

Both companies have issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers, which explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products.
